| Everyone who drives an automobile has the responsibility for operating that vehicle in a safe manner as well as the responsibility to be able to pay for injuries or damages he or she may cause. Millions of new automobiles are added each year to our already crowded roads and our chances of being involved in an accident steadily increases as well. Our responsibilities as drivers become greater, too.
Oregon motorists are required by state statute to carry certain coverage on their automobiles. These coverages include:
- Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability
- The monetary damage you are held liable for due to injuries of other persons and/or damage to the property of others.
- Personal Injury Protection
- Provides coverage for you and passengers in your automobile who are hurt in an accident. Coverage includes payment up to the limit of the medical and hospital, income continuation, loss of services, funeral and child care expenses that result from the accident.
- Uninsured Motorist Coverage
- This coverage will respond to cover injuries to people in your automobile should you be involved in an accident with an uninsured motorist who is held liable for the damage.
There are other coverages usually available which are optional and are not required by state statute. These coverages include comprehensive, collision, towing, rental reimbursement and uninsured motorist property damage.
"In July 2006, I was in an accident and Clark's Insurance of Grants Pass was extremely helpful. They took the burden off of me by taking care of all the footwork and making sure that I did not have to worry about anything other than getting better. They handled all the claims and pay outs to doctors and made me feel like I was the most important thing on their agenda. I would highly recommend Clark's Insurance to any of my friends and family."
